About the Event

To attend, you must RSVP on this event page. You will be emailed with confirmation of your RSVP. If the event is full, join the waitlist. If you need to cancel your place, please email us to do so. Pen Y Fan can be an extreme place during autumn. Please read all of this information carefully.
Event Information:
We will run the traditional Pen Y Fan horseshoe route. It will summit Fan Y Big, Cribyn, Pen Y Fan and Corn Du. Runners must leave Bristol at 07.30 to meet at 09.00 at the Taf Fechen Forest Car Park. To take part in this event you should be fit for running hills and should be able to run 20km on mountainous terrain comfortably.
The weather could turn at any minute on this route making it potentially dangerous, so this run is for experienced trail and fell runners only. Please do not attend if you feel as though you do not have the required experience. If you are unsure, please email us to discuss.
Distance - Approx. 20km
Elevation - Approx. 1100m
Terrain - Some off trail, tough and rocky terrain with steep hills.

Essential Kit:
(We will be completing spot checks)
Trail running shoes
Waterproof jacket with taped seams
Extra warm layer in waterproof bag
Minimum 300kcal of food
Minimum 1L of water (more if it is hot)
Head torch with spare batteries
Fully charged mobile phone
Survival bag or blanket
Small first aid kit
Gloves and a warm hat or buff
Means of navigation (map or GPX loaded to device, GPX will be emailed to runners before the event)
Hand sanitiser and face mask
Warm and dry clothes in the car + a towel
Extra food, water and a hot drink in the car
